I am in absolute awe of Garrett McNamara. 76ft was insane, but 100ft!? The day he took that wave, I was making custom brushes and trying to get over the flu. After watching Garrett's ride, I was inspired to pay homage and I used the new custom brushes to paint. The day after, I kept playing with custom brushes and painted the lava creature. Yup, a lava creature.
Messing around with ZBrush the last couple nights...practicing...the teeth take a bit of time. The past few months I've been drawing and painting. This is the first time sculpting something on the Cintiq. Love both.
Work has kept me really busy, which is a good thing! So this here is a rough concept that I've been working on for fun when I have the time, but it's slow going. Hoping to finish it by Halloween. Swing back by to see it finished in the next few days. If this creature scares you, you're not alone.
